Heavy Rotation

Move out of their way!
Charlotte Hatherley - I Want You To Know
Charlotte returns with more of her slack-jawed bubblegum rock. It’s nice and everything, but, like bubblegum, loses it’s flavour after a while.

Fred Deakin - The Tryptych (LP)
Not so much a mix CD as a short course in the history of popular music. The lovingly-written sleeve notes are a good read too, so it‘s value for money all round.
The Neon Plastix - 1830s
We’ve been “hammering” this dirty squelch-pop all week. At a very high volume. The bit at the minute-and-a-half mark is one of the reasons we love them.

P Diddy & Keyshia Cole - Last Night
We’ve resisted including this one for a couple of weeks because - let’s face it - it’s by P fucking ‘Diddy’; but that colossal beat and Keyshia Cole’s bit in general mean it can be exiled no longer.
The Horrors - Count In Fives
Shockular, rockular, gothdisco goodness from The Horrors’ shrug-worthy debut album.
Larrikin Love - The Freedom Spark (LP)
Post-Wolf we took a nostalgia boat all the way back to 2006 to rediscover this fine album. Now we’re hoping for a Larrikin Love, Jamie T, Patrick Wolf supergroup to be formed. ‘Happy As Annie’ is the best track, FYI.

Larrikin Love - Happy As Annie
Told you so.
