Thanks to Holly C for this little gem...
"POP FACT! The early Human League gigs were in my school. I only found out after I left - the school didn't seem to think it was important! If I'd known that while I was there it would have made the long assemblies much more enjoyable, as I could have spent the time dreaming about Mr Oakey... "
She was lucky. We never even had the 911 tour. Our headmaster used to strum power chords in time to 'Dad's Taking Us To The Zoo', if that counts. It probably doesn't. In 1995 he tried to play 'Name That Tune' with us using a Dire Straits album track. Unaware that the group had just disbanded or that EVERYONE IN THE ROOM WAS UNDER THE AGE OF 11, he persevered, getting more and more annoyed at our inability to guess who's audiobollocks were gushing forth into our innocent infant faces. Eventually his wife (also a teacher) talked him away from the tapedeck. They were tense moments.
