One thing you could always rely on Slipknot for was entertainment. No matter how bad their singles got, they always comprised the sort of hook-filled lunacy that could bring a smile to even the most sullen of faces.
Sadly, one song that won’t be bothering the ridiculometer is their new single, ‘Psychosocial’, which commits the most cardinal of musical sins.
It is boring.
Play our ‘Psychosocial’ quiz! Does it sound like…
a) the soundtrack to a wrestling computer game circa 1998?
b) old men forgetting what to do but still trying to make money?
c) brown porridge sliding down a banister?
d) all of the above?
We’ll leave that for you to ponder. In the meantime, let’s remember the good old days.
That, quite frankly, was more like it. The best bit is when he says “I can’t stand a seagull to live in my robot face” (01.15), which are not the actual lyrics but should be.
