We’ve always wished Avril Lavigne would be a bit more ‘Sk8er Boi’ and a bit less ‘I’m With You’ and now our prayers have been answered, thanks to her new song, ‘Girlfriend’.
‘Girlfriend’ is basically ‘Sk8er Boi’ crossed with ‘Hey Mickey’; a riot of lipgloss, fishnet tights and fizzy drinks.
Like those three things, it’s a lot of fun - but does that make it a good thing?
